Casino game guides for players in India

How teen patti, andar bahar, slots, live tables and crash games work, in plain English and in Hindi. No tips that promise wins.

Game guides

What 12Win is

12Win is an independent guide site for adults in India who want to know how online casino games work before they play. We cover the games Indian players ask about most: teen patti, andar bahar, rummy, slot games, live casino tables and crash games. Every guide is written in Hindi first and in English.

We do not run any games and we do not take deposits. Our only partner link goes to UBET FUN, one online casino. We say on each page which games that site actually lists, and when it does not have a game (rummy and Aviator, for example), we say that too.

How we write the guides

Six games in short

Each game has its own full guide. The short version tells you how the game runs, what you decide yourself and what to read carefully before you bet.

Teen patti

In teen patti every hand has three cards and the stronger hand wins: trail at the top, then pure sequence, sequence, colour, pair and high card. Online, the common form is a live dealer table where your hand is compared with the dealer's. Teen Patti Live (Playtech Live) is on our partner site's game list. Full rankings and round rules: teen patti guide.

Andar bahar

In andar bahar you hold no cards. A middle card is turned up, you pick Andar (inside) or Bahar (outside), and the side where the first card of the same rank lands wins. It is easy to learn and the rounds are very fast, so a budget limit matters most. Rules and side bets: andar bahar guide.

Rummy

In Indian rummy each player gets 13 cards, and the aim is to arrange them all into sequences and sets and declare. A valid declaration needs at least two sequences, one of them pure. Please note: rummy is not on UBET FUN's game list; our page is a rules guide only: rummy rules.

Slot games

In a slot you choose a stake and press spin; a random number generator decides every result. What is worth learning is each game's paytable: what each symbol pays, how lines or ways are counted and when free spins start. Volatility and bonus buys are explained there too: slot games guide.

Live casino

Live tables are streamed from a studio: a real dealer deals or spins the wheel, and you bet on screen while a timer runs. Tables made for Indian players, such as Teen Patti Live, Andar Bahar and Hindi Roulette, are on the partner's list from Playtech Live. Other tables and table limits: live casino guide.

Aviator and crash games

In a crash game a multiplier climbs from 1.00x and "crashes" at a random point; cash out before that and your stake is multiplied by the number on screen, wait too long and the bet is lost. Aviator is not on UBET FUN's game list; the list has crash games such as Spaceman and Big Bass Crash. How it all works: crash games guide.

Quick comparison

Game What you decide What settles the result Pace
Teen patti (live) Your bet and side bets The cards the dealer deals Fast, timed rounds
Andar bahar Andar or Bahar, and the amount First card matching the middle card Very fast
Rummy Which card to pick up and throw each turn The deal and your decisions Set by the table
Slots Stake and number of spins Random number generator Very fast, a few seconds a spin
Live casino Table, bet, amount A real dealer on camera Slower than machine games
Crash games Stake and when to cash out A random crash point Rounds of a few seconds

This table does not call any game "easier to win". Every real-money game is built so the site keeps the edge over time. What you can choose is a game whose rules you understand and a pace you can handle.

How often each teen patti hand comes up

Three cards from a 52-card deck make 22,100 different hands. Simple counting gives the chance of each:

Hand Ways Chance
Trail 52 about 0.24%
Pure sequence 48 about 0.22%
Sequence 720 about 3.3%
Colour 1,096 about 5%
Pair 3,744 about 17%
High card 16,440 about 74%

So about three hands in four are just a high card, and a trail comes up roughly once in 425 hands. That is why side bets paying big on a trail or pure sequence hit so rarely. (The count treats both A-2-3 and Q-K-A as sequences.)

Getting started in 4 steps

  1. Check your age and the law. Real-money games are for adults 18+ only. Check your state and central law yourself; 12Win cannot give legal advice.
  2. Set a limit before anything else. Write down the most you will spend in a week and how long one session will last, so you do not "forget" mid-game.
  3. Learn one game's rules. Pick one game, read its guide, then open the rules or paytable inside the game to see the numbers that actually apply.
  4. Start small and stop on time. Use the smallest stake to get a feel for the pace. Stop when you reach your money or time limit, even if you are ahead.

The full steps, including account safety, are in how to start.

A short glossary of Hindi and Hinglish player terms

Term Meaning
Trail (set, trio) Three cards of the same rank in teen patti; the strongest hand.
Pure sequence Three cards in a row of one suit. Rummy has a group of the same name, with no joker.
Blind and chaal In home teen patti, betting without looking at your cards (blind) and betting after looking (chaal).
Pack and show Folding your hand (pack), and opening the cards for the final comparison (show).
Andar, Bahar Inside and outside: the two sides of an andar bahar table where cards fall in turn.
Joker (middle card) In andar bahar, the card turned up in the middle whose rank must be matched.
Wild joker In rummy, a card turned up at random; every card of that rank works as a joker.
Declare, drop In rummy, ending the game by showing a complete hand, and leaving the game (with a points penalty set by the table rules).
Reels, paylines, ways The columns of a slot, the fixed winning lines, and wins from matching symbols on next-door reels.
Free spins Spins that cost no stake, usually started by scatter symbols.
Volatility Whether wins come often and small (low) or rarely and larger (high).
Multiplier, cash out The rising number in a crash game, and taking your bet out at that number.
Table limit The smallest and largest bet per round at a live table.
Side bet An extra bet that pays more but hits less often than the main bet.
House edge The gap between the true odds and the payout that keeps the site ahead over time.
Wagering (rollover) How much you must bet in total before a promotion can be withdrawn.

The house edge in one example

A European roulette wheel has 37 pockets: 1 to 36, half red and half black, plus a green 0. A bet on red pays even money, as if your chance were 50%; in fact it is 18 in 37, about 48.6%. That gap of about 2.7% is the house edge. You do not see it in one round, but over hundreds of rounds the small gap adds up.

Every real-money game has a gap like this; only its location changes. In andar bahar it is the slightly lower payout on the side that gets the first card, in teen patti side bets it is a payout below the true odds, in slots it is the maths of the paytable. No way of betting removes it. Understanding this is the best way to treat play as an entertainment cost, not a source of income.

How much does an hour of play cost?

The house edge sounds small, but it applies to your total bets, not to the money in your pocket. A simple sum:

  1. Count rounds per hour. Say a live roulette table runs about 60 rounds an hour.
  2. Multiply by your stake. At ₹100 a round, an hour adds up to about ₹6,000 in bets.
  3. Multiply by the house edge. At about 2.7%, the average cost is about ₹162 an hour.

That is a long-run average; on any one day you can win or lose far more. In slots and crash games a round takes seconds, so an hour can mean hundreds of rounds and a total bet much larger than you expect. Knowing how much you bet per hour is the most practical way to stay within a limit.

Long losing runs happen more often than you think

On roulette, a bet on red loses about 51.4% of rounds. Losing 5 in a row has a chance of only about 3.6%, which sounds rare. But over an hour of about 60 rounds, the chance of at least one losing run of 5 or more is about 67%, and of 7 or more about 23%. Long losing runs are a normal part of games of chance, not a sign that things are "about to turn".

That is why doubling your bet after every loss is dangerous. Start at ₹100 and double after each loss: after 7 straight losses you have lost ₹12,700, and the next bet must be ₹12,800 just to win back the first ₹100. The table limit or your budget will stop you before the losing run does.

Promotion terms: do the sum before you accept

12Win does not recommend any promotion. Still, if your site offers one, work it out yourself before you accept. Most promotions carry a wagering requirement: a total amount you must bet before you can withdraw.

An illustration: a ₹1,000 promotion with a 20x wagering requirement means ₹20,000 in total bets. On a bet with a house edge of about 2.7%, the average cost of that betting is about ₹540, and on games with a bigger house edge the cost rises in proportion. Also look in the terms for four things: which games count towards wagering, the deadline, the largest bet allowed while the promotion runs, and the most you can withdraw from it. If you cannot find these, ask support before accepting.

Play responsibly

Playing responsibly means setting money and time limits in advance and keeping to them. A few simple habits help more than any betting method:

If you play longer than planned, hide your play from family or feel restless when you cut down, stop and talk to someone. Tele-MANAS, the Government of India's free mental health helpline, answers on 14416 around the clock. Warning signs and where to get help: play responsibly.

Before you play anything

You must be 18 or older. Rules on online real-money gaming in India differ between states and central law, and they have changed recently. Check the law where you live before you sign up anywhere. Then read how to start, the payments questions and our play responsibly page.
